Wondering what I can get for it. 125k miles, getting the upper and lower pan gaskets replaced this month. Had a top end rebuild 2 years ago with valve seals done. Clutch 20K miles ago. Well maintained. Alpine white on grey leather interior. What do you think I can expect? 14 years of receipts. Thanks. Two kids in college and a toy has to sadly go.
Good luck. $23k would be a good price. Tried bring a trailer?

Sorry, anyone that pulls out a NADA valuation absolutely has no understanding at all of the real world market for the E31 cars.
Don't believe me? Look up the valuation of a CSi
Now try to figure out the difference in value between a 6sp car and an automatic...
Nope, nope, and nope...
Which is unfortunate, because this is the basis for most insurance valuations...

There were only 212 of these cars brought into the US in 1992, so yes, it is rare indeed. Given that this thing has been meticulously maintained, $20K is a very reasonable figure.

As someone with EXPERIENCE both in trying to buy another 6 speed e31 for the past 6 months... and having turned down at least a dozen offers on my black 6 speed since ive owned her I can tell you that you should ask $29,995 and take the first full price offer... you WILL get one for a 6 speed since the csi prices have skyrocketed in the past 2-3 years, you used to be able to get one for 30k, now there double. If you can't get 30k now its because its the end of the buying season (summers almost over) but you will if you put her for sale early next spring. You dont even need to include the throwing stars, sell them separate... set of 4 for $2,500, or 3k+ if you have the 5th. GLWS

Would have to agree on that...minimum $20k for this rare car, from what I've seen of recent sales.
Production figures by year of manufacture are attached.
A good number of the late 1991 six-speed cars must have been included in the total of 212 US imports for '92.
Just a note to Seller: if you are going to sell her with the Throwing Stars included, you might want to get them fitted correctly. From those pictures it would appear they're all facing backwards! GLWS.

Am I reading Kiwi's chart right? Were there only 847 total 6 speeds made for the U.S. market for the entire e31 production run? What's the difference between the 1st row and the 3rd row?
Also, to determine the number of vehicles produced for the 1992 model year would I have to look at the 1991 column? This chart is confusing given the e31 wasn't available in the US market until the 1991 model year (and the chart lists '89 and '90 production figures). What gives?

Here's a 92 six speed for comparison...

Looks like Aspen Silver... as suggested, a set of Style 5's or M-par's would enhance this one.

Look at this '91 6 speed that sold in 2015 for north of $34K on BaT -- 63K miles with a prior accident very early in the car's life! I think we'd all agree today's market is quite a bit stronger than it was 2 years ago. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-bmw-850i-3/
The manual transmissions add a definite premium, and with the throwing stars to boot I think you'd be leaving a lot of money on the table if you let it go for $20K. I'd say start in the high $20's (based on the mileage) and wait for your buyer. If you need the money now, advertise in the mid-to-low $20's and you should see a sale.
