Hello guys!
So I'm getting my car paint on August 1st. $800 paint just but I got a $200 discount because my dads friend is the shop manager. Anyways my car is Oxfordgreen Mettalic but I'm going to get it painted black. Anyways, should I go with a solid black color, or a mettalic black color?
Thanks!

Oh yeah, pictures would be greatly appreciated of the difference.
JetBlack-BMW code 668
Ferrari black, forget the paint code. Since it sounds like you don't care about going OEM, that's about the blackest black out there

I like the cosmos black which is a metallic black that came on these cars. My car is flat black code 668, which I also like. Think it depends on you. Do you want metallic or not?

Imo, metallic black looks more sporty, non metallic (and the darker the better) looks more stately, which is, in general, more the look people are going for on an e38

Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna go with the non metallic black because I feel like the metallic isn't dark enough.
Also I might go with the BMW Swarchz II paint or the black paint that Mercedes uses on their S-Classes.
It's the prep that makes a good paint job, not the paint. Pull dents, and use epoxy sparingly. Sand everything, remove what you can (all trim, paint bumpers separate from the car if you don't go with a metallic, door handles), tape what you cant. (Glass, etc). Don't have much advice on the clear, on the two 60s muscle cars I've helped repaint, we went single stage to maintain an original look. Also, go to the scrapyard and buy a few body panels (hood, fender, etc) to practice on. It's a lot easier to get mistakes out of you when you don't have to sand and repaint a car

Black Sapphire/Swirlmaster Metallic is the BMW equivalent, kinda tealish under light.
I'd go Jet Black.
cosmos is the most beautiful, makes other black E38s look dull next to it.
Is this really the third thread on this issue?
I have cosmos and have had regular Schwartz. The plain black is easier to touch up.
