Just wondering if there might be any interest in a fully rebuilt/as new brake booster from my E32 740iL VIN: DE73018 (GD82). Part number is 34331161950. Car is RHD located in Australia though according to RealOEM, this makes no difference. The same part is used in both LHD + RHD cars.
There are a couple of different versions of this brake booster identifiable by the number of bolt lobes on the master cylinder mounting flange. Early versions of this Ate booster had a two-bolt oval mounting flange. The later improved version had a tri-oval mounting flange with three bolts. I believe the part number was the same for both versions, so you need to identify which is needed visually. Obviously from the photos, mine is the later 3-bolt flange version.
The booster failed by virtue of a minor oil leak at the shaft seal between the booster and the master cylinder interface. A very common failure for these boosters. At the time of failure, I could not afford for the car to be off the road for the time required to have this leaky booster rebuilt, so it was replaced with brand new. I kept the old one here and recently had it fully rebuilt to be kept as a spare for when the booster in the car now suffers the same failure. It was rebuilt in March of this year. All internal seals + perishables were replaced with brand new. The original plastic nose cone was retained intact and undamaged. Upon completion, the entire assembly has been hermetically sealed in airtight bags with cable ties against dust & moisture ingress.
It cost me A$250 to have this professionally rebuilt. Feel free to make contact if you need an as-new brake booster for your E32/E34/E31 and I'll be happy to work something out.
