So let me toss this one at you guys. When the car is nice and cool, whether it's night time, car has been sitting in the garage, or just a cool day out, the electric power steering light will be illuminated and the power steering will not work.
Now if the car has been sitting in the sun all day and the interior is nice and toasty, the power steering will work just like it should. No light, no resistance, nothing.
Now I'm not ready to say that the steering column is toast, because it's obviously not considering it will work. I just want to see if anyone has dealt with something similar to this.
The car is drivable without power steering cause I drive on the highway mainly.
So yea, thanks for the help.

There was a thread on one of the forums recently dealing with that problem. I looked but can't find it. The fix was to lubricate the steering at some point. Hopefully, someone will have more information.

Okay, sorry, I wasn't sure.
no worries. Yea it's just when it's hot out and the car has been sitting in the sun the PS will work like it should. But if the car is cooled off and nothing is hot the PS will not work properly.
