2014 M235i Dashboard Lighting Question

Hi All,

I purchased a 2014 m235i a few months back. Does the dash (speedo/rev meter) have any sort of back lighting while driving during the day (when its light outside)? My headlights are set to auto, if that makes a difference.

My speedo/rev meter is backlit when driving at night or when I enter tunnels but other than that there is no back lighting during day driving.

I had my windows tinted on Saturday and haven't driven the car since, until this morning. For some reason I thought I remembered that the speedo/rev meter was backlit, even when driving during the day, or in bright conditions, and want to make sure that nothing got screwed up during the tinting install.

Am I going crazy?

Hello and welcome to the forum! I don't believe that there was any back-lighting during the day; only as you mentioned when you're driving through a dark area like a tunnel - same thing on my 135i. Let us know if you have any other questions!
