Yes, I am truly in awe of you guys, the way you stoically continue to fix these cars, especially the 12s. (Which are great cars by the way) But, I have to say, the way the water pump is installed with the actual connection way in the back of the block is something that only a sadist looking for masochists could have designed. LOL

I honestly think it's a breeze to work on, but those are my tiny hands speaking.

That waterpump I believe is the same type of design that is seen on the M60 and M62. Had to make sure that pipe didnt pull out too far or you'd have to make sure it was reseated in the rear of the block before putting in the new waterpump. That M62 is the biggest PITFA, ill take the M70 over the M62 in terms of maintenance any day.

Yeah, the water pump was the killer. I had done a lot of work on the car. I replaced all the front and rear suspension parts and it drove so nicely. I replaced the radiator twice (the first one I received was defective and they had to send me a replacement!. Obviously I replaced the fan clutch. Got the electrics and computer working correctly, mustard relay etc. I even repaired the heater and A/C! But that pipe to the back of the block after removing all the crap to replace the water pump. That did it. LOL

As long as it stays on the road driven by somebody it's all good.
