Z3 slip ring

Hi, I swapped the M steering wheel on my 2001 z, the previous slip ring did not fit my new e46 M steering wheel, so I just removed it, is it going to be a problem besides not having the horn or the airbag working? Or does it have another function? Should I get another slip ring?

You just need the adapter cable and the S54 slip ring to make it work.

Also, you can pretty easily machine the M3 wheel to fit the slip ring. I have done several.

Assuming you aren't doing this in the S52.
