Is it safe ti have your vehicle checked by someones OBD reader?

    Hello all

Is it safe to have someone read your car with their OBD reader?

What information will they be able to see from my car?. I've searched the forum but couldn't find anything.

    Regards

Yes, that is completely fine. They will see your diagnostics, including codes.

There have been mentions of cheap Chinese canbus diag equipment breaking the coding of modules on newer cars, and then needing repair with correct BMW equipment. So not entirely safe with everyone using no name Bluetooth scanners, etc.
