I believe so. Check this out. Seems to say probably yes as long as the flywheel is same but that there were 2 versions of 2.8 FW'S. Good stuff in here:

I'd say yes, it's basically the M52TUB30TU, bottom end is virtually unchanged.
For the M52TU that the OP is asking about? Not 100% here but I think only one FW used with that engine ... the DMF019. Great price on it at Amazon, by the way .... if anyone is searching for one.

The thread I linked says you basically have choices of 2 SMFW or a DMFW, all work fine on all the motors as long as you match clutch and yeah seems like 52TU and 54 are simpatico cuz it's the DMFW.
