2005 BMW 120i 250,000 kms SHOULD I BUY?!

Hi All

A friend who knows nothing at all about cars was ripped off 7 months ago on a 120i. 2005 120i with 250kms on it he spent around 8k AUD on it from a private dealer.

Car now has developed an idle issue where its jolting on idle and the car is shaking a fair bit on the cold start. I don't think it is a big deal, most likely coil pack spark plug etc. I'm getting it looked at on Monday coming, updates to follow. He is just over the car and wants a cheap to run Mazda now as he is a bit younger. He said he would sell the car to me for 2000 AUD. Poor guy knows nothing about cars at all and just wants to cut his losses.

I'm wondering if you guys think its a good deal, if 250kms is too many and even if it is a cheap fix will something else break later down the track as in sooner rather than later?

Stay away or give her a go? Beaut car for 2k! Even if i do have to spend a bit (wont spend more than 800-1000 on repairs...)

I would first get the codes read to see what other issues it may have. If the coils and plugs are the only thing it needs, then it sounds like a fair deal. I would think it would need a lot more than that though.
