E36 1998 328i how do you remove rear tail light lens ?

Bentley says just remove the four nuts
from the back of the Lens / taillights .

I did that and the lens wont budge .

what am i missing

Pull, really hard! They get pretty good and stuck on.

Try it after you've left the rear light area facing the sun for most of the day, say about 3pm.

If you start prying, pry carefully as the black plastic is brittle and thin.

i banged it out with a hammer on the 4 studs where the nuts go on. wasnt easy

That thing is a b!tch to replace - I gave up. What's the trick to sitting this SOB into the groove with ridges on the lens housing?
