I have a 99 M3 and someone pulled out infront of me so I slammed on breaks didnt get clutch in fast enough stalled out. Now the cars steering is locked no power at all put the key in ignition its almost like its stuck into the 1st position because engine will not turn over. Im guessing its the ignition but i searched forums and couldn't seem to find my issue. I dont have the spinning tumblr that i see everywhere mines actually stops in the crank position just does nothn no dash lights or anything. Any help would be grately appreciated or if there is a post for my problem please send link thanks.

Wiggle the steering wheel while you try to turn the key. Don't force the key.

Just like a reboot on your smartphone,
try disconnecting the battery for 10min.,
may reset whatever is causing the problem.
Did you actually make contact with the other vehicle?

Yes i tried disconnecting the battery to try and reset everything but no luck. Also I didn't hit the other car they just sped off ������. This is the first ive heard of a problem like this.

Your going to need a diagnostic scan with BMW specific scan tool/software.
My Drip Loops Are Better
You said "almost like it's stuck in 1st position because it wont' turn over". Are you able to physically turn the key to the run/crank position? If so and nothing happens, start checking fuses and power.

Yes im able to turn the key to run and crank it just does nothing and the steering wont come unlocked. Its as if the ignition has no power. Also thanks for all the replies to this post. But ill check the fuses when i get home today.

Hi just wanted to update anybody that have this problem it was indeed the ignition. Thanks for all the responses from the people who tried to help!
