Hi All
Being a serial BMW guy I needed a more practical vehicle to carry some gear in etc and was all primed to buy a 2008 X5 4.8i but was too big and ungainly (not a an SUV guy) so found an X3 which seems to be a good compromise.
It has 128K km with full dealer service history but no invoices and the dealer wont tell me the details of work. Any suggestions about what I should do with regard to servicing....I was thinking about transmission/transfer case fluid change for starters. There are no engine lights or unusual things going but only a very slight sound from left hand rear which sounds like a brake pad slightly dragging....any ideas?
What is the best fluid to fill the trans with as I do a fair bit of driving at 110kmh and want the best performance.
I look forward to hearing from you

Hi Shane - congrats on the new ride; let's see some photos of it! The automatic transmission fluid is normally filled with lifetime fluid. BMW defines lifetime as 100,000 miles. Therefore, it is a good idea to service your fluid every 50,000 miles. I've included a link to several types; all that will work well for your BMW. Please let us know if you have any questions!
