Hello All!
I'm completely new to the forums but I recently purchased a USA E36 1997 M3 Sedan as a project car. So far the car is a dream and my idea is to track it over my Mini GP (which is a dream).
So far I got a list of issues from a reputable shop in Los Angeles, but upon trying to get it smogged it failed (no surprise honestly).
So far i've changed the oil to 10w40 fully syn, added a KN filter and cleaned the spark plugs. I was lucky enough to have my father own an e36 with a stock pile of parts.
I plan on replacing the steering wheel (its awkwardly sticky), swap rotors to the EU rotors, add hawk pads, add pilot super spots.
I'm a complete newb so what are some things I should look for as warning signs?

These cars are 20 years old, so all sorts of systems are tired, likely. Unless you have specific issues, maybe do a bunch of reading starting here:

Welcome, I have a spare set of Zimmerman floating front rotors (Euro design) if you'd like them. Bought them new and decided to go another more aggressive route. I live in Venice, shoot me a PM.
