Just tires

Have Michelin (not run flat) tires. They are shot. Need new sneakers and I understand answers are subjective. But let's say Yokohama are a good bit less expensive, what am I giving up switching? Does anyone like one brand over another and why? Not buying super expensive tires. Thanks
