Hi All,
I purchased an 07 335i M Sport and emailed customer services asking whether the car has had the OBD security patch installed to which they said I need it, so I booked my car in at my local dealer.
All was well and I got a call last week saying they are ready for me to bring it in.
Then I got a call today saying that they aren't sure why I am bringing it in and there isnt a security update for it.
I told them about the OBD issues and they said no there isnt a fix and there is no update they can provide me with.
Head office said I need it, local dealer said no.
I will still be taking it to them tomorrow but is there any further info I should know about as I think they are trying to weasel their way out of it?
If you just tell the local dealer that you want your car upgraded to the latest software/ integration level, that will insure that your CAS gets the security upgrade.
Just drove it down and they couldn't tell whether it needs it or not.
They did the manual key twist and the windows dropped which to me indicates it does need it.
Cars with them now for the next 7 hours.
What in the world are you talking about? I work at a dealer and have never heard of such a thing.

Never even heard of that. It was a U.K. article. Wonder if American cars are affected? Being a dealer tech, that's something I would have expected to have heard about

And I've just realised I'm on the US site... I'm in the UK.
Whoops.
