I just received my new floor mats from Marek (NOJSER) -- very nice, btw -- and I have a question about the fasteners. These mats (as well as another set I had purchased online) use the same type of fasteners, which I presume are the stock fasteners (see link here for an example): https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...uine-bmw-part/ . These fasteners go into a part that looks like this (another example): https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...k/51471881521/.
However, my car came with original BMW mats that were fastened with something that looks like this: http://www.dhgate.com/product/black-...08:r0910538910 . There are little posts sticking up out of the floor/carpeting, that go through the holes in the fasteners.
Now, I can buy the parts shown above on the ecstuning site, but what do they attach to? I'm at a loss to figure out how these little discs will keep the floor mats in place. How do I attach them? Do I have to glue them to the carpet? On the other hand, does anyone know a part number for the equivalent BMW part to my original fasteners? The little posts from my original mats are still in my carpet. I've rummaged through the RealOEM site, but haven't found any that look like these. Thanks for any advice or assistance.

Looks like you need to remove 82111466956
form the floor and use 51478116564 + 51471881521 to mount new mats.

I picked up my car today from having the seats recovered -- the GAHH seat covers are great, btw -- and I had an epiphany. I don't need to install the lock discs; they are already there. I realized from looking at the picture of the parts that my old floormats used, that all I had to do was remove the old posts, and the new floormat locks would just fit right in. The locking discs were what were holding the pins in place. Thanks Tony! Without the picture, I never would have realized it.
I also had the upholstery shop make a new shift boot using one of my old headrest covers, so now my shift boot and handbrake boot match the seats. I'll post some photos tomorrow.

I reused my stock fasteners.

I have the posts 82111466956 in my floor. Except one is missing. Can I find the proper part to replace one of these posts? When I put this part number into Real OEM it gives me 51478116564 + 51471881521. So now I have a couple of these and I am not sure how I would install them. Any one have a picture of how these look installed?
This drove me crazy until I realized that, for the posts to work, the 51471881521 parts (the lock rings) have to already be installed under the carpet. Use a screwdriver in the center of the post and turn 90 degrees to remove the posts, and then just use the 51478116564 part. When you take the original posts out, you'll see that they have the same shaped piece at the bottom as the 51478116564 part (see the picture that Tony posted in post #2, above).

OK, it works. I like the original style a little better. I ordered another pair for of the newer fasteners and one more of the older original fastener posts from the dealer. I am curious what will be available.
I also called Racemark whose name is one the carpet fasteners but they say the style is old, and they can't sell to the public anyway.
I was going to get the original BMW ones but a quick eBay search found that there are aftermarket equivalents which work just as well.
I've had my "oem" fasteners from eBay for over a year and none have broken.
