    Check Coolant/Coolant temp

    2001 740i
Got the Check Coolant message and added coolant to it. Took it for a drive, Got the check coolant and coolant temperature notification. Temp meter went to red. Don't see the coolant leaking but seems to be low again.

    Not sure what to do

Stop driving, drain coolant and oil, check for milkshake and add new coolant thru top hose (or bleed).

I would definitely stop driving, as repeatedly going into the red will surely lead to engine damage.

    Check oil level and condition.
Top off coolant to proper level and bleed system,
Add coolant to proper level if needed, but only after engine has completely cooled.
Carefully inspect cooling system for any leaks. Post back with findings.

We both know they rarely blow head gaskets but it happens.

The odd thing is, the coolant seems to disappear, I am guessing internal possibly. But I will have to lift it up and check.

What is the best way to bleed it, I've read many different things online.

Fill thru the top rad hose and bypass the bleeding process.
