"faulty" side marker lights that work

I started getting a light failure icon on the dash.
I hooked up the diagnostic laptop and sure enough it said both side marker lights were faulty 930D FRM & 930C FRM.
Confusing thing is both lights work. When I lock the car they flash like they should.
I haven't tried replacing bulbs regardless - I guess I should, can the resistance of the bulb change and the FRM thinks it bad even if it's still OK?

    Thanks
    Ed

I have the same thing going on, Have the light failure on the dash and get the codes 930C and 930D from the FRM. Side markers work when using hazards or turn signals. Any solution?

Since the signals come through the footwell module ( frm) it is a good chance it is faulty. But some one needs to verify that and they are not plug and play module, it needs to be coded.

The alert is engaged due to resistance threshold breach.
I've had this on many of my bulbs shortly before they totally failed.
Very like that this will be corrected when changing the bulbs out.

BMW has an upgraded peanut bulb for the sidemarkers that is supposed to be longer life. Whenever one side fails, we're supposed to replace both with the upgraded bulb.
