2001 325CI Convertible Seat & Carpet Swap Questions

    Greetings,
I'm thinking of replacing the worn carpet and poorly re-upholstered vinyl-clad seats in the wife's 2001 325 convertible. The vinyl front seats I believe were a previous owner's handy work. They look ok despite a small cig burn and are very hot and sticky since the vinyl doesn't breath. Momma hates them......
So, will the leather sport seats and carpets from an E46 M3 fit right in? Also, how easy is it to install the heated seat controls in her non-heated-seat car? Will the "new" seat belt pre-tensioners have to be programed to the car or the SRS? I have one that's bad anyway.

    Thanks!

The carpet will, however the vert seat belts are part of the seats themselves. So you will need to find those type of seats, while the you might be able to make it work, I don't know.

Yes I understand about the seat belts being integrated into the seats and I've seen E46 M3 convertible seats that are of the same design. Guess I need to track one down local and give it a tape measure and good look at!

Yes the M-3 vert seats will fit, as the seat rails are the same. Now what may cause problems is if you have power seats vers non, and heated seats vers non. These seats can be taken apart and if you have sports seats in the 325i, then you can just swap the leather over.

If you are thinking about running the wires for electric seats, that in itself will be a challenge too, as nothing besides the alarm and CD player is pre-wired. I miss the old 80's BMW where pretty much had everything prewired.
