    Headlights to Hood gasket reburbish

The headlight gaskets had bothered me enough, but at around 100 bucks for the pair I had other desires, like springs/struts.
So I decided on an interim repair.

    The old... ugly and ineffective.

Removed the gaskets, and using a razor knife trimmed all the old rubber, to leave the bare plastic frame.
edit: rubber residue needs to be cleaned off with acetone to bare plastic, just the bottom edge.

McMaster Carr part # 9141K119, L-shaped soft high-temp foam rubber, 5 feet, $13.35. Fitted the plastic to the headlight, and laid out the rubber to shape. I found that placing the short leg
of the 'L' under the plastic bottom edge gave a better fit. Tight to the headlight lens, snug to the hood. 3M weatherstrip adhesive holds the seal nicely.

It will do for now, until after the suspension revamp.
    Cheers!

I like that! Mine need to be done also where did you get this trim? And did you just stick it to the existing plastic piece with the 3m adhesive?

Thanks. McMaster Carr, check them online. It is amazing how much stuff they catalog. The part number is in the OP.
I tried vinyl adhesive first, didn't take. The 3m works ok. Spread on each piece, let it tack up for 5-10 minutes, stick and go.

Wow that's QUITE the seal! Maybe I'll invest into it.

I certainly need to invest in C pillar moldings because I'm noticing oxidation along that channel, so my poor car might be rusty soon enough.

If you need the C pillar molding rubbers check with GMCPaul on the forum here. He has a access to a perfect replacement for the moldings.
