    4 2017 X5M's, loaded

Wrecked 2017 X5M. Trying to decide if I should part it out or let them salvage it:

    Hey guys!

I have a 2017 X5M company car that my buddy wrecked a few weeks ago. It had 6,000 miles on it and was in flawless condition before it was wrecked. They are offering me $25,000 in salvage value for the car. Just by looking at it I figured I could pull the engine and major parts and sell them for much more than that. What do you guys think? Does anyone have experience with this? Am I in the right place?

    Thanks!

Where do you work where a X5 M is you're company vehicle? Ours is a 2001 Chevy box truck XD

From experience, I can tell you it's a ton of work parting cars, and that's on early 2000s cars where parts are worn out and in demand, I could imagine it being hard to unload some of then major parts for such a new car, there's probably not too many people that have blown up their engines, and they're too technically complex and expensive to be a viable aftermarket swap, not to mention, since you would be selling it as a private seller, you don't have the connections to local shops that would be most likely to buy the expensive driveline parts, odds are very good you wouldn't find a buyer that would purchase the engine from you without going through a shop. If it was me personally, on a car like this, it would make the most sense to sell it as salvage for the $25k. Also, quote shop a bit, even if it has to be hauled a few hours, if a different salvage yard makes an offer for $27k or something, it's well worth the drive.
