I have 2000 BMW 323i and recently I have replaced the inner/outer tie rods.
After the replacement I took the car to the mechanic shop for the wheel alignment.
20 minutes after I drove away from the mechanic shop, all of the sadden 3 indicator lights came on my dashboard: 1) DSC; 2) ABS; 3) Brake.
I phoned back to the mechanic and explained the situation. I asked him if this is something related to the wheel alignment activity. He responded that unlikely but invited me back to check the next day.
The next day the indicator lights disappeared. Then a day after they came back On, but this time just DSC and ABS.
I drove to mechanic shop, he looked if there are any sensors that could of gotten damaged. It seems that all 4 ABS wheel sensors were intact. He suggested leaving the car for a day with him, so he would connect his tester and drive around to see what is happening (I haven’t done that yet, can’t find a time when I don’t need a car for a day).
As soon as drove away the lights disappeared.
Then a day after all 3 indicator lights came back On.
I ran my own Autel MaxiDiag Elite MD802 tester and found the following fault code:
31 ; DSC: Wheel-speed sensor, rear left
I deleted the code in order to see if this might be a glitch, but a day later all 3 lights again came back.
I ran another test and this time I found 2 fault codes:
A8 ; DSC: Voltage supply, sensor
31 ; DSC: Wheel-speed sensor, rear left
Since then all 3 indicator lights were spontaneously coming On and Off.
On top of this there are instances when just the DSC indicator comes On for few seconds and at that moments the radio turns Off. As soon as DSC indicator disappears the radio turns back On.
Has anyone here experienced the same situation?
What can be done?
I would suggest getting into the ABS/DSC ECU and watching the live data. In INPA there is a screen for you to watch the wheel speeds for each corner, and if one drops, you will see it.

I have Autel MaxiDiag Elite MD802 tester . Will this gadget do the same job?
I would bet one of the TINY wires on the left rear sensor pigtail is frayed - causing all of lights.
You have the trifecta. Welcome to the club. If you find a solution please post it here when you're done.
Remove all four wheel speed sensors from the car and check with a digital meter. When measuring in ohms you should get a reading in the hundreds or just below. Possibilty that if one of the sensors provides no reading that sensor should be replaced with a tested sensor, that should solve the issue.
Are there four wheel sensors? I thought it was driver front and passenger rear. Maybe I'm confusing cars. Anyway, the same happened to me when doing the same job. Changed the sensor and it went away.
The DSC indicator still comes On for couple seconds and at that moments the radio turns Off. As soon as DSC indicator disappears the radio turns back On.
What can be done with this?
What have you done to get the car scanned for codes? With all the ECU's on that car, it is like fishing without a hook.

The codes indicate a wiring connection problem or failed left-rear sensor.Check, clean and swap wiring connections/rear sensors.
Clear codes, rescan and observe if code transfers to right-rear,if so,replace sensor.

Has anyone solved this problem? If so, how?
Just replace the left rear wheel sensor. You can try cleaning it but its just to replace it, clear the codes and see if anything comes back

Was a fault and fix ever found Yober?
Thank you for the update.
For almost 5 months the indicators were quite. Today all 3 indicators came back on. I will be getting to it tomorrow (if the rain would stop for awhile).
Yeah just because it is intermittent and in your case months of intermittency doesn't mean the sensor isn't bad. I see a lot of wiring issues over time as the protective barriers wear out.

It could be your ABS module. Mine was intermittent for months then on all the time. It was the module. Some can be rebuilt and some like the Ate module are considered not repairable. I put in a used module and had it coded. It's been working well since November.
the lights are off again .
will wait for dry day to resolve this mystery.
curry, wold my Autel MaxiDiag Elite MD802 tester be able to check the ABS module ?

If the lights were on, a code or codes will be stored in the ABS/DSC ECU. I don't know about the Autel if it can do what you need.

Autel MaxiDiag Elite MD802 tester shows one fault code:
31 ; DSC: Wheel-speed sensor, rear left
Replace the sensor already,
you've received confirmation from your tester, multiple times.
Let's clear up this damn mystery!
