Go Fund Me page For fursideup (Jon) final expenses

As many of you know my very dear friend fursideup (Jon) has suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. This is a devastating loss to his loved ones and also E31 community as he was a foremost expert on these cars.
To help Jon's family with final expenses I have set up a go fund me page.
All proceeds will go to Jon's wife and Son.
Let's see how strong the E31 community really is!

It is indeed a sad day when one loses a friend. Final expenses can be quite a lot for your family. Even though my Father had made most of the decisions, and arraignments, and paid for them in advance, there were many more.

400+ views, and only 17 donations,,, just sad! Perhaps many of us don't understand the costs incurred by families after the death of a loved one. Step up, and help! Then spend some time thinking about what you will do for your loved ones before your time comes. Make your arraignments in advance, and know that there will still be more costs after you are gone. A Dios Jon.

When I think about the E31 community and this forum, I think about a group of individuals who come together to share their passion for the 8s, but also who help each other when needed.
    Your help is needed.....
Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated, no amount is too small.

Approaching 1000 views, $2500+ so far? I never had the pleasure of meeting Jon but in the many years I have owned my 8's he has indirectly helped me in many ways. The multitude and quality of this man's contribiutions here have done the same for many others. This knowledge and resource will prevail even without Jon, but don't forget a lot of it came from him. So, as you browse this forum for knowledge, don't forget someone who was a pillar of this family. Jon's family is in need of some help from us. C'mon folks, any amount helps. To all, whether you were graced with this man's direct friendship or just know him from here, lets see a show of appreciation at least. Thanks- Greg

I don't usually post when it comes to these issues but to put things in perspective, the below screw is almost $10 a piece for install of CSI Nose. Like TTTXGreg said, 1000 reviews at $1-$10 I think we would have hit the goal already. Please donate one of your CSI Screws.

In a world that is getting ever more polarizing, it is this 8 series community that reminds me that regardless of our own personal views on politics, religion, even cars, that we can and do all come together with a common interest, our e31s. It's refreshing to know that we all have far more in common with each other than what separates us. I never knew Jon and I don't recall reading any of his posts, but he was part of our community and as such we all benefited.

I'm pleased to see our President, TTTXGreg, get behind this effort and remind us that collectively we can make a difference. And if you are like me, you get busy with other projects, sidelined with family, work, etc..., and you forget to act on this worthy cause. I know I did, until I saw Greg's post and it reminded me that life is precious and too short. So I post this message with the hopes of keeping this thread visible and therefore a reminder that WE can make a difference.

    #1- I am not President, that's Steffen!
#2- Dragon is who was so kind to start this.

Thru the years y'all know me as the "instigator" or the one who rallies the troops for national events, coordinating caravans to and from, or otherwise giving people $hit for humor on the forum, etc..
I would like to clarify my words posted in request for donations to Jon's fund. I in no way imply any disrespect or judgement to any who are unable to contribute, or choose not to. This is not a scorecard. I donated anonymous but somehow my name ended up there. Please- to those who are unable to contribute, do not feel guilty or short of still being in this family. We have eaten many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches thru the years, struggling to pay utility bills. Actually joked with my wife and started referring to them as steak sandwiches for dinner!
So, apologies to anyone who might have taken my aggressive language personally. Cheers- Greg

    ps- over $3000. now!

President or not, (my error) I just wanted to thank you for keeping this thread active as it reminded me that I wanted to contribute.

I've been away from the forum for a few months and was sad to stumble across this thread today. I did try to donate and got an error that said there is an "issue with this user's gofundme account". Did I miss the window?

I've only just now acquired an 8, but over the past few months of learning about and bidding on these machines online, I found that Jon's voice had become a small presence in my life. I'm sure it will continue to be a help to me in the years ahead. My condolences.

Good cause and what I gave is a fraction of the amount of value this forum/community has provided me.
