    Trunk Flooding - 128 Convertible

I've been dealing with trunk flooding for a few years now. There was a time I thought replacing a gasket fixed the issue, but when I found a few inches of water in the battery area, I knew it hadn't. This issue also affected my amp, and I've replaced it twice. Someone recommended flushing the convertible drains, which helped, but during heavy rains water still gets in, and now it appears water is seeping up through the floor in the passenger side back seat area and pooling. I'm guessing water is trapped beneath.

Has anyone else had similar issues? If so, what did you do for a permanent fix? I just had the drains flushed, so it's not as though it's time for another de-clogging.

    Thank you.

Wow, really sorry that you're dealing with this. I own a 1 series coupe and haven't heard of this happening to the cabs. - have you looked at all the seals? Where was the initial flooding's point of origin?

Yes, all the seals have been inspected. Source seemed to be the drains, but since it's still happening after I had the drains cleaned I'm wondering if the drains themselves are defective. Also, my back window was separating from the roof. Initially, I thought that was the main leakage source (prior to the drains being cleaned), but it wasn't as more water got into my trunk after the window was resealed. Very frustrating!

Sounds like the drains are the faulty part - is the car under warranty still? If so, I would have the dealer address this after multiple attempts on your end.

I just picked up a '12 vert and this is the first I've heard of leaks. I have seen an issue with the rear window though. So a few questions please. Where are the drains located? Be nice to inspect to see if I have any pending issues. 2nd, was your car ever in an accident? Wondering if the top or body was ever tweaked...
