Swap your stubs into an open diff and weld that, then sell your m3 diff for mad profit. Win win

I can even just buy the open diff spool that came from the same size, 188mm, casing and swap it out, right?? pic below. the main gear (planetary?) will bolt right up right?

that's way more work than grabbing an open diff for cheap and welding it and then selling your LSD for more than you bought the open for.

why ruin the LSD and spend money when you can make money by just replacing it?
always trying to make it lighter and faster

    a) no you cant weld an LSD
    b) you dont want a diff from a 328. the gear ratio is super low. But, in an M3 it just might work.
    c) its not as easy as swapping the spool section. theres backspacing and other stuff to account for. stuff my brain cant comprehend.
    d) open diffs from 325s are a dime a dozen. grab one for cheap from a pull-a-part joint and weld it. Keep you LSD around just incase, you never know. or sell it.

RT. 325is has a 3.15 open. Best ratio available imo

You can swap out the LSD for an open carrier. That's what I had to do with my M3 210mm diff to be able to weld it. It's not bad to do really, just pop the stubs, unbolt the bearings, drop it out, unbolt the ring gear and swap everything over.
