So when I start the car to pull out the steering wheel is really hard to turn and starts squeeling. It's fine when driving. Is the power steering pump bad and the belt? Or rack? Should I change any other belts if I do?? About 160k on my 84 733i.
Towed to your models sub-forum. You will get more eyes on it here.

Hey, I am not always correct.
Had that issue on my old Euro 735 five speed...it had a few loose bolts amd a broken adjuster!
But I would replace belts while in there and do the 130mm water pump pulley swap

Check all the pulleys had my old 735 do that replaced a lot of parts before I figured out my crank pulley was toast, always good to look at serviceable parts first FYI

I had a similar issue on my e24, and it was the bolts that hold the power steering pump together. Just had to tighten them up.
