    60,000 Mile Overhaul Question

I have an 60,000 overhaul list for my 06 M5. I have found a ton of good DYI's for most of the items.....One however seems to be non existent. The "Replace oil pressure valve filter and O-rings". Anyone out there have any experience with this item?

In 12 years in the BMW repair business, I have never seen, or even heard, of anyone replacing whatever the heck part you're talking about.

What are you doing to the car? My beast has recently hit 60k and I have already replaced the rod bearings, spark plugs, SMG fluid flush and differential oil

The only thing I did other than what you listed was. SMG Pump fluid flush and change, Replaced air filter, cleaned MAS, Flushed the coolant system, brake fluid flush, replaced fuel filter. I did not change the rod bearings as my results during the last oil analysis by Blackstone laboratories was perfect. Unfortunately I just lost what I think is an idle actuator I hoping that someone on this forum can look at my codes and tell whether I need to change 1 or both actuator.

Hi, the part that fails in the actuator are the plastic gears that move the throttle. They're both the same age, replace them both at the same time. WAIT !! You only need to buy the plastic gear replacements ($120/both) not the complete throttle actuators ($670 ea) You can find them on eBay, original and a carbon reinforced one that will last forever. On this topic, when you replace the rod bearings, is this a major engine rebuild or a week project by a reputable shop? I'm at least an hour away from certified BMW dealers. I've heard people doing them without even removing the engine.
