08 Z4 Si Head unit and Amp replacement

Hello all,

I recently purchased an 08 Z4Si with the premium sound package and I'm having the intermittent sound issues that so many others have reported.

I'm looking into replacing the head unit and amp with aftermarket equipment and keeping the 10 factory speakers. So, I'm looking for any information I can find from those who have done this and kept the factory speakers.

Can anyone offer any insight or advise?

The head unit is DIN in size. DIN MEQNS Deutsches Industrie Norman, or German Indystrial Standard. Likely any head unit that's DIN in size will fit.
