Fuel pump interchangeable

Would there be any difference between a fuel pump for a 2005 x3, and a 2005 330i? Wondering because there both the same 3.0 m54, but there's a big difference in price. Being the 330i one is much cheaper.

You have to be more specific. State the engine code for you X3 and perhaps we can cross reference for shared parts. There are 5 engine types for the E83 X3. Otherwise it is all a guess...

What other engine info is needed besides saying its a 2005 3.0 m54?
The reason I'm asking about a fuel pump is because my car seems to have trouble starting when warm. I rebuilt the fuel injectors with filters, and o rings. Not that they still can't be leaking. That didn't make a change. I tested the the fuel pressure and it has good pressure, and after letting the car sit the pressure didn't bleed off much. 6-7 psi over the course of an hour and a half. (But now not sure if my gauge is faulty. After I removed the gauge from the rail, it stayed at the same pressure. Would think it would drop to zero right away not being connected to anything.)
But it also seems like it starts better when I put the key forward quick for 1 or two cranks. Shut it off and start the second time like normal and it will fire up.

I would not throw a new fuel pump at this unless you have confirmed that the fuel pressure is low ...

The engine starting issues that you describe can be caused by vacuum leaks ... and a M54 is notorious for oil/air/vacuum leaks. I had a number of small oil leaks repaired that were dripping oil onto the manifold and eventually (after the valve cover gasket was replaced) then the engine starting issues like you described have cleared up.
