    New Steering Wheel replacement

I want (need) to replace my original four point steering wheel in my 98 sedan with a 3 point steering wheel. I definitely want the M stitching and an airbag.

What is the best way to do this on a budget? A new steering wheel with airbag is too expensive. My thoughts are to (1) get a used 3 point steering wheel off of ebay or craigslist, then have Coby wheels recover it... or (2) buy one of the reconditioned wheels off of ebay.

Would the Euro wheels like those off of ebay (like this) work on a single stage US e36?

Any wisdom for picking up a nice looking, 3 point M steering wheel on a budget? (with airbag)

    thanks all.

    New Steering Wheel replacement

There do seem to be a lot of US and Euro 3-spoke reconditioned/recovered wheels on the market today. I don't know where the 'flat bottom' wheels are coming from, however there are a lot of choices.

    Also need a new wheel

but am not sure what airbag setup. '99 540 wagon produced 3/99 so right on the cusp. Here's the current airbag setup - anyone know definitively if this is single stage or dual stage?

PM Shepott on the forums here. He did my wheel and it wasn't expensive.

Be sure to read Frankie's 3-spoke swap write-up and buy the plastic switch bracket and horn button

Surprised a 98 sedan is still fitted with the 4-spoke wheel.

Only in the US I believe. Canadian cars had the 3 spoke in 98
