NO LONGER FOR SALE
Name: Aaron
Location: SF Bay Area, CA
Car: 1997 E36 M3, Cosmos Schwarz Metallic
Mileage: 116,590
Price: N/A
I've owned this car for 6 years as the 2nd owner. I purchased it with 71k miles and have put 45k miles on it. The original owner was out of Berkeley, CA; he was a BMWCCA member and purchased it from SFBMW. Both the previous owner and myself have kept the car garaged every day.
This was my daily driver for 3 years when I started to slowly transition it into a dual-purpose track car. I eventually decided to get a 2nd DD and the car became mostly dedicated to my HPDE days. I?m considering selling it to get myself into a completely stripped & trailered track car to enter into competition; since I believe this car is too clean for that. I'd expect that the new owner would be happy with DD'ing the car. The car is completely SMOG & street legal.
The car is in great condition throughout and I strongly believe it is one of the cleanest E36s around the area. It sees consistent praise at car meets and track days.
Drivetrain:
Stock, unopened S52B32 engine with Conforti chip
Absolutely zero leaks ? oil, gear oil, or power steering
Oil change history shows ave. 4.6k mi. intervals with Mobil1 0W-40
Z3S54 Radiator, electric fan, dual relays, Stewart water pump, Zionsville shroud and expansion tank
Coolerworx shifter assembly (like CAE) with UUC DSSR and new bushings
Up-to-date with new hoses, belts, seals, filters, spark plugs as expected
AC, heater, cruise control, etc. all works
Suspension:
KW V1 coilovers
Vorshlag camber plates
H&R front swaybar and stock rear swaybar
Vorshlag red 95A engine mounts
OEM E38 transmission mount bracket and mounts
Recently new diff mounts, RTABs, control arms, control arm bushings, etc.
OEM rubber everywhere except for the front control arms
Body / Interior:
Paint condition is excellent 9/10 (-1 to account for rock chips)
Interior condition is excellent for the parts remaining
Still retaining the entire front-half of the interior: carpet, door panels, dash, center console, etc. My goal was to be able to sit in the car and still look at a standard e36 interior.
Custom welded 6pt. roll bar (back half) by TC Design (best in business)
Rear subframe, strut bar and shock towers integrated into the TCD roll bar
Roll bar was designed with the intent to be safe on the street and allow for possible upgrade to a future full cage for NASA/SCCA rules
2x Recaro SPG seats & Schroth 6pt. Profi harnesses (both still in cert.)
Seat mounts were custom made by TCD to accommodate me (tall driver 6?4?)
Abrahams Motorsport high-rise LTW wing professionally paint-matched
The car has seen one bump in a parking lot. The rear bumper was repainted and the OEM taillights & LTW wing were replaced.
Sunroof, sunroof mech., and headliner were deleted to improve headroom.
Front and rear fenders have all been rolled but not aggressively pulled
Wheels / Tires / Brakes:
17x8.5? BBS CH installed by the dealer (cool history IMO)
245/40/17 Michelin PSS with ~50% life left (~8/32?)
Front brakes are 332x32 Brembo BBK refurbished off of a Porsche 996. Recently replaced Brembo rotors. Calipers are painted Porsche Riviera Blue.
Rear brakes are stock calipers with Stoptech slotted rotors.
Extras:
BMW car cover
Front underpanel
Phillips HIDs with ballasts and RetrofitSource TL lenses
Misc. BMW tools and extra parts will come with the car
