735i lowering with KYB or bilstein touring?

I'm wondering what you all recommend for shocks if I'm lowering the car 1" to 1.5" front, maybe 1" rear (looking at H&R as I can get them for about $200 new.)

    Bilstein Touring:
I see the bilsteins touring shocks are on sale at tire rack.
tire rack says "not recommended with lowering springs" but hoping to get some real world input here.

    KYB:
I saw a post somewhere where someone was using them with lower springs although I'm sure Tire Rack won't recommend them either.

    Run stock shocks:
I know it's a matter of time before the shocks get overworked from sport springs, but is anyone using stock or stock replacement shocks with a lower spring?

    thanks!

Avoid Bilstein Tourings like the plague. They will ruin your car's ride.

I'm on kyb the ride is completely original. I don't know if I would suggest them with any substantial drop. I maybe have 10k on mine no issues and they were very cheap too. My car on e24 springs

Just don't lower them, their non-sport valving is notorious for responding terribly to lowering springs. I'm running my E39 on HDs and lowering springs, brutally harsh ride but I don't mind.

Go Koni or KYB if you want to go low.

Considering you used e24 M6 front springs, would it be correct to assume that a standard e24 spring would not result in much drop? or by chance does the M6 spring only increase rate and not really lower the ride?

I want to achieve the look you have, but I want to be sure before I source a set of e24 springs.
    Thanks!

I have read that there was a variation in the 635 vs m6 spring wise. But I have done a side by side comparison and saw no difference. I only used the m6 springs because I had them hanging around after I installed my h&r's in my m6

The user NE32 did the same drop as me as well maybe he can post better before and after

Here's and image to compare the spring height as well

Thanks for posting, the issue I have is that it may be difficult to find OEM M6 e24 springs, no? Standard e24 springs may be easier to come by, but I'm sure they will not provide any noticeable drop.

Yes I saw a set of front 635 springs on eBay for $100 . My only worrie would be if you do h&r you might get a stiffer ride. I was trying to avoid that because I enjoyed the comfortable ride it had

I'm actually about to take my m6 springs off today. I got some Bavauto springs that I might ride on for a bit. I wanted better fitment with my front wheels. I will post pics later today of the comparison. Using Billy Sport shocks. I will say the ride with the e24 springs/Sports has been great. Nothing but good things to say about the combo.

At first I was going to keep the m6 springs for awhile just in case I didn't like the Bavauto ones BUT that changed very quickly lol. I will get you a quote on shipping in the next few days!

    Here are some reference pictures.

M6 Springs. I was able to fit almost 4 fingers between the wheel and the fender.

BavAuto Springs. Fit one finger between the wheel and fender.

Both ride really well. Nice and smooth. Not afraid to go over rough road. I've only bottomed out once with the BavAuto springs. Riding on 225/40/18 in the front.
