I see 2 different part numbers for rear rotors, 34216864054 and 34216864046. According to realoem, 046 is for 2002-2005 and 054 is for 2006-2008. Are these really different parts, or can I just use the 046 rotors on my 2008 750Li?
So your asking if 2 totally different part numbers are really different parts? Am I missing something here?
These are 2 completely different parts, use the one that is associated with your year.

It seems like a stupid question, but the BMW service technician told me that many times, BMW changed part numbers when they changed vendors, but the parts would actually be identical. So I was wondering if anyone had specific experience with these two parts.
For the record, the difference between these two parts is the depth of the bell housing. The extra depth in the newer part allows for changes in the 2005 upgrade to the mechanical components that manage the dynamic cruise control. It's a very subtle change. It's less than 1/8 inch difference, but it's enough to make the parts incompatible.
So, for anyone in the future who is curious as I was - no, the two rotors are NOT compatible.
