Well, this is weird...thoughts?
1. When chasing lean codes, I replaced the intake boot and CCV hose system, along with a cheap after market MAF
2. After a couple of months, I was still getting lean codes and a BMW specialist suggested the MAF was rubbish. I put the old one back in, even though the electrical connector had snapped the clip off
3. Car has been running perfect for over a week now, so I decided to go to a BMW breakers yard to get a MAF
4. Installed MAF from breakers yard and I got a P0102 (MAF Circuit Low) and the transmission warning light came on yellow
5. Reinstalled old MAF and problem cured.
So my question is, why did the tranny light come on because of a MAF circuit problem? Any ideas?
Your trans light came on due to "torque request" not being fulfilled possibly.
quit buying garbage parts for a BMW.
But yes, the moral of this story is don't fit cheap after market parts on a Beemer - I've learnt my lesson!
