I went into RealOEM and brought up your car. 1991 E32 Euro 730I LHD with Manual Transmission. Everything for your car is here. It the upper left you could click on Retrofitting. Then scroll down and there are a few places to click to see the A/C and the wiring of it.

Now it locks drivers door too. This metal bracket was broken. Some welding and it's good as new.

Now I've adjusted the valves and put some good oil in, torqued the banjo bolts a changed oil filter. Also transmission mounts were rubbish so I've put new one, and also seats were cracked so I've got new ones. Cheers

Some leather seats maintenance. And new gear selector leather cover
This seven series is absolute perfection, and M30 is brutal engine.

Hm. My M30 is losing the coolant somewhere. There's no obvious leaks. Also carpets are dry so the heater core is ok (I think). Am I experiencing head gasket failure. Also there's no white smoke or oil in coolant. Car runs smooth and there's no power loss or something like that

Take off your oil fill cap and look inside the cap. If you've got while foamy bubbles you might have a head gasket problem.

I've already done that. There's no head gasket failure symptoms. Engine runs great has a lot of power. There's no excessive pressure in hoses.

Trying to think where it might go. Maybe you had a large air bubble in the system and as it goes away slowly it appears that the coolant level is going down. Maybe you should bleed the system. There's a screw, 11mm I think on the thermostat housing. Can't think of anything else.

I've bled the system. I'm not a mechanic but I do know great deal about my car and all repairs with it. This is really enigma. But can't be so difficult to detect a leak. Only thing that I didn't consider is that head gasket has very small rupture and it leaks inside combustion chamber but not too much for white smoke to form

I'm not a mechanic either, so we're both trying to figure out where the "invisible coolant" is going. No water on the floor.....ever?

I'll remove all of coolant and remove all hoses and radiator for inspection. Can't be so hard to find a leak. If it gets worse I'll remove heater core and it's hoses. It's not a normal car it's hunted. BTW leak is not big approx 2l per 2000-3000km so if a radiator has a leak it will not be obvious and it will vaporize before being detected

Ive seen some of these heads develop a crack near the spark plug area, heat from the exhaust would evaporate the coolant before you ever saw it. Had this guy searching for this for months. Look around the head especially on the exhaust side. Only thing I can think of

Gotcha. After some time I've found the leak. The car wasn't on operating temperature so coolant couldn't evaporate quickly. I'll need new radiator. BTW today I've got new shock absorbers

Glad you found your leak! Was about to suggest the overflow line connection as i have had a very small intermittent leak on my M30 powered e34
Also, there are two drains for the heater box which discharge any leak on either side of the transmission, so a heater core leak really shouldn't soak the carpet (had one of those leaks as well)
Congrats on you find. You wanna talk heater core leaks?? I had a 1983 E23 733I (5 speed) for seven years. In all that time my worst problem was a combination of heater core leaking and sunroof drain holes clogging. Final two years of that car my carpets were always soaked. Sometimes just water, and sometimes it tasted sweet like antifreeze. When I traded it in, in 90 for this E32, the salesman bought it. He said he knew a great mechanic at the dealership who could fix the problem. I never went back to that dealership, but I can guarantee it was never fixed. That car was haunted. If I wanted dry carpets for more than a week, I had to make sure I parked the car on a bit of an incline with the front end a little higher than the rear. Great memories.

Tnx. So far so good. I don't have time to replace the radiator. Here are some pictures of my car. Sunny day and some washing. It's a daily driver. Enjoy
