The funny thing is that the correct pronunciation of his name sounds more natural with an English/Aussie accent---and yet all 4 of the NBCSN guys have those accents but pronounce it incorrectly.
At this point, why wouldn't Merc renew his contract for 2018? Serious question.

Great...another idiotic torpedo from Kvyat. Took out Alonso and Verstappen.

Another brilliant move from Kyvat.
So glad Perez got ahead of Hammy.
EDIT: Hammy passed Perez...no surprise since Mercedes is easily the fastest car in F1 anyway, and then on top of it Hamster's car has been set up with even less wing for muuuch higher speeds on the straights than the rest.
A bit clumsy of Kimi to let Grosjean pass him, and then a few clumsy moves when trying to retake. At least he finally managed to pass a Haas... Kimi's really not been impressive in the last few years.
Wow, looking at the replay Hammy's Merc is incredibly much faster than Kimi's Ferrari. Kimi struggled to pass in the braking zone, while Hammy could basically out-accelerate GRO whenever he wanted and was completely past way before the braking zone even... Looks like Bottas is going to get an easy win (unless tactical mistakes) and Vettel will have to pull one out of the hat to keep Hamilton from rising to second. Merc is crushing it.

The only excitement is going to be the question of what point Hamilton will take 2nd. And can Kimi maybe pass Ricciardo in the pitstops?
BMWs are fun in the snow too...
Hamilton is having issues with his right rear. Might have to come in early.
Mercedes seems to be about half a second faster than any other car on this track. Bottas seems to be taking it easy, and Hamilton has made small mistakes on many of his laps but looking at all their laps so far whenever they put a lap together they're sometimes even more than 0.5s faster than Ferraris and Ricciardo. And Hamilton's on supersofts...
I like how fast Red Bull's race pace is! RIC seems to be almost matching the Ferraris!

Hammy complaining of too much front wing. Bottas with a bad pitstop.
Looking at how hard Hammy pushed on his out lap, he might've destroyed his rears himself...

BTW I'm pretty happy I paid for a proper F1 viewing package: I can select from all kinds of screens, data, track position and in how many windows I want to view them. Just a shame I couldn't buy Sky Sports from outside the UK, I had to buy from a local provider who suck at commentating and don't have the grid walk etc.. Then again I'm happy I'm not giving money to the nationalist idiot Sky morons.

So now I guess the situation is stable, just:
-Will Bottas keep driving well in order to keep Vettel behind. Vettel seems to be bringing amazing pace, could even threaten Valtteri??
-Has Hammy destroyed his tires so bad that Kimi can catch him? Kimi took 1.5 seconds off him in the last 5 laps. And tire problems don't necessarily disappear but more likely it gets worse...
Now radio says possible rain at the end of the race!

The lapped cars are interfering with all the battles way too much!!

Kimi lost about 5 seconds in the last 2 laps due to lapped cars...ridiculous!
BMWs are fun in the snow too...
WOW!!!!! What a race!! Vettel had amazing pace, actually threatening Bottas in the end!
And HOLY HELL WHAT PACE RICCIARDO HAD IN THE RED BULL!!! Who would've thought that anyone could keep a Merc behind with a Red Bull??? DID YOU SEE THOSE LAP TIMES RIC PULLED OFF????

That's near the drive of the decade from Ricciardo!!

Vamp isn't gonna like this
No wonder there are rumours of a change in the second Ferrari seat...

Now AFAIK there are 2 points separating Hammy and Bottas. Vettel 16 points ahead? EDIT: 20 points ahead.

This shoey stuff is already played out...
(Unless maybe if someone does a shoey with Hammy's tears, then I wanna see it.)

Woohoo! Great result! Race was a bit of a snoozer until the end though.
Questions:
- Is it too soon to start making Kyvat-Maldonado comparisons?
- Max said his clutch failed. His fault possibly?
- The RBR pace of development is extremely encouraging.

Wow, Vettel was right: Bottas did in fact have a jump start. But the official measurement is done with the sensor in the car with very certain thresholds and Bottas was miraculously slightly below that set threshold! They're not allowed to use video feed to make rulings on this. According to the sensor Bottas moved approx 3 thousandths of a second before the lights went out, but the official threshold is ten thousandths. This info comes directly from the stewards.
The Sky F1 article seems to have incorrect info, suggesting that the measurement was a reaction time to the lights and mentioning a .201 number. That must be their own theoreticizing. But stewards say that a measured .01 seconds is allowed before the lights go out, and Bottas moved about .003 seconds before the lights went out (which is therefore still allowed), meaning that in reality the car only gets visibly, noticeably moving at about when the lights go out.

On video replay, it looked like Bottas cut a perfect tree. Still, .003 is significantly quicker reaction time than pro stock bests. Voted, left early.

Last podium interview I watched was Patrick Stewart's I believe. Have since gotten into the habit of turning the race off, beforehand, due to the fear that Eddie Jordan may have a foot fetish. Last thing I want the camera to catch a glimpse of is this guy peeking out from behind a curtain with his pants around his ankles while these strapping young lads are drinking from their shoes.
Speaking of which, Ricciardo is killing it.
Kimi, less so. I'd like the press to follow up on what his engineers were talking about with the "Reset default fail 16" nonsense.
This time at least Brundle was using the excuse of giving the shoe to charity, but still it reeked to me that he wanted to promote himself at some charity event stage, in the spotlight, for having done that shoey on the podium...
