Looking for good Mechanic in the DC or Southern Maryland Area

I looked but could not find a sub-forum for finding good bmw mechanics in my area.

I'm sure the Dealerships are over 150 per hour for labor, but I want a good shop that won't try to take advantage, and actually know what they are doing.
True Story: I had one shop that i frequented, until they changed ownership, and they couldn't find a sensor that they said cost $200.00 bucks. But I then went to the dealership parts counter and got it for 20.00. Never went back to that shop again.

Any recommendations on mechanics in the Southern MD / DC/ Northern VA area?

Try www.bimrs.org. Also, ask members of the National Capital Chapter of the BMWCCA. I'm in Arlington and use J&F Motors in south Arlington.

The post is certainly allowed, but you may get a better answer if you ask your question in the local-area forum. Let me see if I can get my friend squirrelhill to advise; he lives near you. (Of course, he did ship his car from DC to me in North Carolina, so I could do his work....)

I highly recommend Prestige Automotive Solutions, 7511 Rickenbacker Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20879, (301) 977-9700. Ask for Aries (owner) and feel free to tell him that Jedd is the source of the referral.

I also heard good things about Aktiv Automotive, 22 W. Diamond Ave., Gaithersburg, MD 20877, (301) 869-3200, although I cannot personally vouch for their services.
