See my post in your other thread for what I'm using now.

Pretty sure the 2 caps and resistor are needed for filtering and so the radio will see there is something plugged into the AUX input.
    Noted, thanks.

People on M5Board have removed the caps and resistor and claim it increases the volume on the low end. https://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e6...ty-volume.html

Aux cable has been run up into the glovebox. No feedback or ground interference, so I’m calling this a success!

My mileage reset cluster has just arrived back from Paul (blackknight530i) at Fixels, so I’ll throw that in tomorrow. I’m excited to finally be able to read my mileage without having to guess at the third digit.

A few things to address in the near future:
    - clunking in the left front suspension. It’s only really audible/noticeable when turning the wheel at parking lot speeds. Feels/sounds like the strut mount. Grr. FCP...
    - passenger seat trim decided it didn’t like its job anymore and broke. Squeaks like crazy if the seat is fully down. I’ll replace both sides eventually.
    - ticking sound behind glovebox, which was much more pronounced with the glovebox removed. I’m honestly not sure what this is. Seems to only be audible at slower speeds or when decelerating. I think it sounds like an exhaust leak, which is possible. I did reuse the exhaust gaskets on my 2nd and 3rd trans removals. i think the sound varies with RPM, but this problem popped up two days ago and I haven’t paid close enough attention yet.

So that new Behr radiator is leaking. Ordered a warranty replacement through RockAuto.

This was a South African Hella/Behr, but I'm really disappointed. Honestly, a little mad. I installed this radiator on/around Feb. 6/7th of this year, around 206,438mi. I have just over 217,043mi right now. 10,605mi is nothing for a radiator.

That sucks. I know its a warranty replacement but you might want to consider switching to another brand like Nissens. Mine's rolling with ~23,800 miles and looking good. It replaced a behr with ~25,000 that failed.

I've not had good experiences with Nissens. I had a Nissens in my first 530iA. It does not fit well in facelift cars, as the overflow elbow sticks up too far.

If the Behr fails again in the near future, I'll go for an RK Autowerks fully aluminum radiator, and hopefully I'll never have to worry about it again (barring impact or other puncture damage).

While I haven't had any issues with my South African Behr radiator (installed like 30k miles ago), I did have to replace my Behr expansion tank (installed at the same time as the radiator) since the level sensor stopped working correctly and the tank started leaking at the seams. Seems like the formerly good options aren't so great anymore... which is a bummer for me since I run a shop and try to buy the best quality parts that I can for my customers.

Behr/hella tanks are made in china. I've gone through a few of these and each typically lasted 1.5 years. I will only go for the OE BMW one which is built better and much thicker and heavier. They can be had for $80-100. There are threads somewhere on here where someone opened the 2 and compared them. Easy determination is the OE float is deep red and the behr hella is usually orangish in my experience. I recently replaced my radiator with the behr hella South Africa one... If I ran a shop I'd only want to use genuine parts in certain areas like engine gaskets and expansion tanks to keep them from coming back in for warranty work or just unneeded bad word of mouth due to lower quality parts. They have to pay for them anyways right?

Yeah, it's really about picking and choosing what's good and what's not good as far as OEM parts vs. Genuine BMW. I've had decent luck with Behr radiators so I'm still using them, but for things like expansion tanks, CCV, and fan clutches we stick to Genuine BMW.

At least for I6s, Behr fan clutch = Genuine BMW. You can see where the part number is removed.

For my E39, this also applied to my overflow tank. I ordered the Behr from Rockauto and received it with the BMW logo ground down on the exterior of the tank. It’s definitely a thicker plastic mold than the Behr replacements I’ve seen for the E36.

Removed and replaced the busted radiator. From hot car to filled and bled cooling system took about two hours, which isn’t too bad, I’d say. When I removed the upper radiator hose, the whole connection came with it. I didn’t do anything else except to refill the cooling system with fresh BMW coolant, distilled water, and a leftover tiny bit of Redline WaterWetter.
