Any others have similar numbers for a 525iAT?

My car runs 24 MPG on highway trips, 16-18 around town, so your kilometerage is pretty good for mixed driving.

I dunno what similar numbers are, but I know my 540i/6 does only about 1 mpg less and I get all the v8 powa

The other day I was actually happy to see my mpg improved in a long time. It went from 17.5mpg to 17.6mpg.

Not so amazing for a 525i. I have no problems getting 27 mpg on long trips in my 540i/5 if I don't go faster than 60 mph and never use more than like 10% throttle. I know some 523-528 owners who are getting closer to 33 mpg on long trips.
