As the post says I am back on the road after the timing guides repair. I couldnt be happier about it because now I know the issue with the guides is long gone...for now that is. My car is a 2000 e38 sport with about 86k on the odometer. I'm the 3rd owner. I have gone out of my way to keep the car stock. No fancy halo lights or anything like that. The guides took me about 40 hours but I was taking my time working on it on the weekends. Timing the car was easy with the tools. I almost feel like doing the guides for other folks around the DFW area but it all depends on what they would pay for the job.
Grats on the timing guide job!! Glad you decided to keep that beauty!!
Were did u get that tray from in the trunk?

I did. I got the idea from the Merced E class. You can buy the tray on eBay for about $150. After that is just matter of drilling a few holes. Works like a charm and looks the part.
You don't happen to have a link to that tray on eBay, do you?

On eBay do the following search. "Mercedes storage comfort box". Then spend your money.
Nice ride and good job on the guides repair.
Did you refurbished your wheels? they look new.
Nice!

Nice work! Use top notch oil and you can probably go 150 on the new guides!

No, I haven't refurbished the wheels. It will need new tires in the next 10k. I may put it up for sale so I'm debating about throwing more money into it.
Good job! Clean looking car
