My grills arent in terrible shape but they look a bit tired. I was considering outright painting the plastic or at least doing plastidip. Did a search and was surprised nothing came up.
This would NOT be painted to match the body color. Painted matte black or something suitable to replace the tired plastic color. It just looks like old plastic now.
Plastidip may be the best since it's at least removable (probably with a lot of work for the grill, however)
Anyone have pictures? Did it last? Not worth the work? Other regrets or words of encouragement?

Tape off the chrome and paint the black parts. Then use a dremel and some polishing compound to shine the chrome up to a mirror finish.

Got a dremel coming in soon actually. What tip did you use?
Would a matte black or semi gloss be best for the grill? Did you paint yours?
Use SEM trim paint. Best looking matte black paint on the market for any sort of trim pieces.
Thank you! Their site says it paints on aluminum and steel as well so I may be able to do the door handles as well. That'd be great...

Yup. It's awesome for shadowlining the windows too if you wanted to do that as well. It gives that factory finish and color that matches perfectly imo.
