ok i have a 2000 750il highline in orinoco green. i bought it for 1500 bucks with a bad tranny. put it in drive and she just revs and revs and goes nowhere until about 4 grand or so, which then hits with a hard bang, and then is third gear only( as yes im in trans fail-safe) im going to start by pulling the engine light thats on, and then im going to check the voltage of the double battery setup as i know if they go low enough itll set off limp mode.....mayeb the trannys just a little low on fluid? whats my proper procedure to check that double batt setup also? i dont wana hurt anything. are these sysmptoms characteristic of somthing simple or is this looking like a full tranny swap and or rebuild? which way should i go with this issue guys? thanks

intakes been done, breathers been done, plugs done, and throttle bodys are brand new. got from a friend who has a bmw tune shop for 30yrs now.

when it bangs into 4th gear like that at around 3-4k tranny is done bud get another or have it rebuilt and move on.
