hello there im new here iv been searching up stuff on google on the 7 series and always find myself reading something on here so i figured i should join since i spend so much time on the net. anyway my question is i got a 740il that didnt come with the back seat shades on either side so i was wondering how easy it would be to put them in? i have all the tools and hardware i believe for installing them just making sure i dont need anything else besides the shades and brackets, my parents friends use to have a 7 series years ago that had them and i thought they were like the coolest thing ever haha. but yeah any help would be nice if im missing anything thanks.
You need the door cards, the shades, mounting tabs n screws, the plastic window trim, and the hooks to hold the shade when it's extended.
I added them to my 2000 sport short.
1969 GTO Warwick Blue/Parchment
2000 740i Sport 6 speed
alright thank you! yeah i got the mounting brackets and screws i just need the hooks not sure what to type in to find a set then the door cards didnt know i need but ill add that to the list.
I will move the thread to the E38 subforum.
@meetmy740: My Cars: BMW 740il is not enough in your profile, add E38 and month and built year, easier for the other members to help when they have to check wiring diagrams or parts lists
Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
Door cards can be cut if you don't mind cutting them.
There are 2 styles of hooks for pre- or post-03/97 production. Those will need to match up with when your shades came from.
alright thank you shogun, i kinda had a feeling i posted in the wrong part of the forum since im new. and ill also add and edit my profile as well here later today after work.

@psjr yeah i was thinking i could shave them down iv only seen a couple pic's of what the panels look like seemed they had more of a gap between the the panel and window but all the pictures iv come across on google arent really good close ups of it was wasn't sure. or the location of the hooks and what they look like i could never see how they were attatched to the upper part of the window.
