X5 e53 engine won't turn off

Hello everyone! I have a BMW X5 e53 and it was infested by a rat a few days ago. The damn thing ate some of the wires and cut them apart. I had to take the dashboard off to get to them and reatach them together!

The problem is now that once i reconnect the battery the instrument panel lights up by itself without turning the ignition on and once i start the engine it wont turn off. I had to disconnect one of the fuse box connectors for it to turn off.


Any help appreciated.

Sounds to me like you've got something wired improperly. Time to go back and check your work! Specifically the wiring to the ignition switch.
