So as the title states I have a no crank no start on my 99 528i. The issue started right after my front driver tire fell off, my lug nuts fell right off On the highway. I turned off the engine and took lugs off the other tires and put the tire back on. Tried to start the car to get off the highway but no crank.
I have power in the outlet and lights but no radio, light on cluster, engine turnover.
Also got a jump and that didn't help.
You will probably need to check wiring, something got shorted/torn.
There is a little fuse pack in the ecu box that you should check. But depending how violent the wheel falloff was, you may have torn wires?

The wheel came off completely. But stayed under the vehicle. It removed the lining over the tire and lodged itself underneath the car. The brake pad and rotor made contact with the pavement briefly.
Where is the ecu? And how exactly would I check it?
I'm still sitting here waiting to see if I can get it started.
Not in the ECU, in the ECU BOX

I'd have to guess that either the car is REALLY pissed off at you for leaving the wheel bolts undone, or it's trying to save your life, by refusing to start.
If a wheel falls off a car at highway speeds, you don't just bolt the thing back on, and drive away. You have the car flat-bedded to a shop, put on a lift, and carefully inspected for the almost certain dangerous damage which results from such a disaster.
You're lucky to be alive; don't push your luck.

So you were right. The wheel caught on the inner rubber lining and that pulled on a harness.
Now I have to figure out whether it's just shorted or whether it fried the module when the wires were pulled.
