Anyone ever do this swap?
Really dont like the 90s vibe of the m3 dash and like the simpler 318ti dash.
ive seen m3 dash into ti but never the opposite.
any insight?
Gonna start the swap soon so any help appreciated
will post updates once started
In a car, the goal of the driver is to get as much information as is possible. then act on what you gather. Taking the M3 out and putting the 318ti in is a giant leap backwards. If it is true that you have seen an M3 dash installed into a ti, then it holds true that the ti dash should fit into the M3. The question becomes, why would you do this?
The Tach will be calibrated wrong, although that should not be difficult to resolve. I think the M3 gets a gauge for oil temp and pressure, the ti has a dummy light for pressure only. The tach and speedo go to higher numbers than the ti goes to.
I think he is talking about the whole dashboard, not the gauge cluster but I could be wrong.

I think if you have a sedan it may be easier but I had read about one swap into a ti where it was not a pleasant experience.
And the cluster stays with the engine. I run the M3 cluster in my ti to look after the S52. I wish I had an oil temp gage...
