Weird Throttle Issue

Just bought a 1998 750iL 120K car. Besides the fact that I can't talk to either of the DME's with GT1-DIS or INPA, I am able to talk to the EML. There were no errors, but there is a weird problem when driving.

When accelerating, if you use more than about 1/2 throttle, it's as if someone turned off a switch. The engine Just stops pulling and the car slows. If you back off the throttle to less than 1/2, it will pull hard. WTF? I suppose my biggest fear is the EML's need rebuilding (groan), but I'm open to any other ideas as well.

I have no idea where to even start with this. Nor do I have a clue as to how to get communication with the DME's

Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful.

recalibrate the EML

If you mean re-sync the EML's, I already did that (I think). That was first on my list though I forgot to mention that (apologies). Disconnect battery, let stand for an hour, re-connect, idle 5 minutes, 1st gear, up to 5000+ rpm, back to idle, rinse and repeat 2 more times, idle 5 minutes - Voila! No joy!

Also: Spaced out on EML errors in INPA, received the following:
EML3 Error

81 – DME_R2, DME_L2, EGS, ASC CAN Error Receiving Data

106 – Error In Data Exchange During Normal Operating

153 – Error Diagnostic of Stepper Motor IC

These look like bus errors regarding communications with the exception of 153, but I have no idea what stepper motor it's referring to. EML motor?. Could this be an issue in operation? Need translation.
