    Hydraulic Failure help - solved

    Hey everyone,

As I was braking on an off-ramp from the highway, a message suddenly popped up that said "brake assist inactive" and I immediately lost power steering. Brakes seemed okay and I was able to get home fine, I drove at a low speed to minimize brake use though and I had no power steering at all.

Does anyone have any ideas on what may have happened or experienced something similar?

Totally hit the nail on the head; the belt was destroyed (shredded bits around the engine bay). Bought a new belt and put it in today.I'll change the timing belt tomorrow as a precaution.

This would be the perfect time to replace both of your belt tensioner assemblies. Autohausaz has them.
