Hello all. I have gotten to the point where I am tired of working in my garage every weekend as my lowest mileage car of the 3 I currently have is at 189K miles. Two of them run like champs but still they are getting old and things are breaking more frequent. I was originally looking into E90s as a newer car but the F30 is just a much better looking BMW and to my surprise has gotten down to prices where I can afford what I consider low mileage. What has mainly been within my budget is the 320i and 328i. What kind of reliability do these engines have? I am looking at some 2014s with old timing chain guides. If I were to buy it, what is the chance something major will go wrong with the engine? I don't plan on thrashing it, and things like brakes and suspension do not scare me. Is it possible this car can make it to 200K without needing to swap out an engine? If you have resources on this car I would be very interested in them as Ibam doing as much research I can.

May not be enough 100K miles plus F30s around to give you a good read
Thats what I was thinking too. I will say this, I have seen more 100k miles N55 powered F30s for sale than N20s. I do have an oppurtunity to get a 335i at 97K miles. Everything seemed fine with it except the belt tensioner seems to wobble side to side so that will need to be addressed.

Some problems with the turbo smoking after sitting overnight. Known problem and BMW will change the oil line at no charge no matter how many miles are on it as an extended warranty item.
